Covenant Choirs

adult_choir

Adult Choir (high school age and above) sings and provides leadership in Sunday services and in special services including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday. This choir periodically performs major choral works with orchestra.
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. in the choir room.

beth_pricehandbellsSummer Choir meets in June and August on Sunday mornings at 9:20 a.m. to rehearse music for that morning's service. Visitors are encouraged to participate on any given Sunday, or for as many as they wish; no commitment is required.

Treble/Youth Choir (grades 2 and above) sings monthly in Sundays services. The Treble/Youth Choir uses a chorister training program in which members work toward achieving goals in music reading skills; developing the singing voice; responsibility and teamwork; learning about liturgy and worship; and understanding the role of a church choir.
Rehearsals: Sundays, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in the choir room.

Music Discovery (age 3 - grade 1) is not a performing choir, but rather a class in which participants experience and learn about music through singing, movement, playing instruments, improvising, learning to read music, listening to music, and learning about musical instruments, all in a free environment that encourages exploration and experimentation.
Meets: Sunday, 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. in the choir room.

Handbell Choir (high school age and above) plays periodically in Sunday services and for special services. Music-reading ability is required, but training is available for those interested who do not already read music. Rehearsals:  Sunday, 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Handbell Ensemble (high school age and above) is a more advanced handbell choir that performs music for five or fewer ringers. Experience is necessary.
Rehearsals: Wednesday, 6:20 - 7:20 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Instrumentalists from within the congregation are occasionally needed to accompany and play in worship. Instrumentalists of any age who are interested may contact the Director of Music.
